Entering an educational offering into the calendar

Security:  Anyone can view and add offerings into the Kentucky EMS Education Calendar. Only the system administrator can edit or delete an offering that has been entered. Please enter your information carefully.  If you make a mistake, please send the following information by e-mail to john@hultgren.org

  • The date and title of the offering as it appears in the current listing that needs to be changed (so we can find the correct entry to edit).
  • A list of the change(s) that need to be made.
  • Your name, e-mail address, and other information so that we can verify the changes by phone with the sponsor of the offering.

Editing will be completed after verification is complete.

Adding events: To add an event, just click on the date where you offering begins.

A page will appear with calendar dates across the top (where you can navigate to other dates). To add a new event, click "Create" on the second line.

Events can include HTML code, including hyperlinks, tables, colors, and images. You can add Popup Text that will appear in full, with any browser, in the List view (default). For readers who have changed the default view to block calendar view, the Popup Text will appear in a separate smaller window, but your users will need a browser capable of reading JavaScript to read this popup window.

Click SUBMIT at the bottom of the frame to save the event that you have just entered.

Clicking RESET or CANCEL at the bottom of the form will remove any entries you have made for this event.

Editing Tips:

  • If you don't use spaces between words, the calendar's columns may get distorted. Each column will expand to fit the longest unbroken string of characters.
  • Notice to Mac users: For now, you may need to hit the View Calendar link twice in order to return to the calendar.
  • Please leave the background for the event the color white. Changing the color may obscure the event when it is printed on many printers.
  • Please use the default font size. We need to fit as much information as possible into the calendar.
  • The calendar uses military time and sorts events for each day by time. Please use the correct time.
  • Please use only the title of the offering in the CALENDAR TEXT box. This will help keep the calendar uncluttered. Put additional information into the POP UP TEXT OR URL LINK box.
  • Try to use the full name of the offering AND it's commonly used abbreviations without periods (for example: "Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)" Users can use the SEARCH feature to create custom calendars, but the text must be the same for this to work.
  • Use the POP UP TEXT box to list additional information about your offering. Try to anticipate the information needs of those who are interested in attending the offering. This includes, at a minimum, time, time zone, and location. You may wish to cut and paste the template below into the POP UP TEXT box (and remove any lines that you don't wish to use):
