Position description:
Job Purpose: Ambulance Service Paramedics (EMT-P's) are
responsible for the working knowledge of the ambulances, emergency
equipment and supplies used on each ambulance They are to maintain
all units and equipment in a clean and working order and maintain
ambulance service stations in a clean and orderly manner. They are
responsible that supplies are properly maintained in the units and
in the re-supply area and that all items are within expiration
date and not tainted or damaged and that proper procedures are
utilized in the acquisition and disposal of such supplies. EMT -P'
s abide by written dress code as described in departmental policy.
They are to maintain patient confidentiality as described in
departmental and Hospital policy. They are required to complete
patient medical and other type reports in a timely manner and in a
format as described by departmental or hospital policy/procedure
or as required by regulatory agencies. They are required to
decontaminate vehicles, equipment and supplies in a manner as
described in departmental or hospital PIP or by regulatory
agencies. Must be able to assess and manage patients of all ages
and deliver care within the scope of their certification levels
and departmental protocols. EMT-P's are to follow the written
policies and procedures as developed by Community Methodist
Hospital (CMH), CMH Ambulance Service or CMH Medical Control. And
other such duties as may be required for the efficient operation
of the
Department or Hospital.
Position requirements:
High School Graduate or equivalent.
Successful completion of the Emergency Medical
Technician-Paramedic Course as outlined by the Depar1ment of
Transportation and the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure and the
Ky. Cabinet for Human Resources.
Current Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic Certification in
the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
