PHI announces CAMTS accreditation award

PHI Air Medical Press Release

LEXINGTON — PHI Air Medical of Kentucky, a rotorwing air ambulance transport service, today announced their award with the prestigious CAMTS accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems for four consecutive cycles over the past 12 years. In order to obtain accreditation, a medical transport service must be in substantial compliance with the accreditation standards.

CAMTS is an industry, peer reviewed organization dedicated to improving patient care and transport safety by providing a dynamic accreditation process through the development of standards, education, and services. CAMTS accreditation standards, as a measure of quality, are part of a voluntary process and frequently exceed the AHJ’s regulations. The accreditation standards are periodically revised to reflect the dynamic, changing environment of medical transport with considerable input from all disciplines of the medical profession and serve as a marker of excellence for federal, state, and local governmental agencies, as well as private agencies and to the general public.

“Obtaining the CAMTS accreditation reaffirms PHI Air Medical’s continued commitment to safety and high quality patient care,” explained Matt Ishmael, Regional Director. “Our on-going investments in state-of-the-art aviation and medical technology coupled with rigorous training of our personnel offers our patients and their families’ peace of mind in knowing they are being cared for by an elite team of highly skilled and compassionate professionals.”

PHI Air Medical provides highly skilled flight nurse and flight paramedic teams to provide critical care for adult, neonatal and pediatric patients throughout the state of Kentucky, as well as in communities across the nation. PHI Air Medical operates and maintains a fleet of EC-135 helicopters based in Morehead, Greenville, London and Monticello, Kentucky.
