WKU now offers degree in paramedicine By
MARTHA HOUCHIN, Interim Division Chair BOWLING GREEN The Community College of Western Kentucky University now offers an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Paramedicine. This is a new program which is being offered for the first time Fall 99 semester. The student will be awarded 40 hours of block credit upon completion of all required course work and with proof of current National Registry Certification (if you have state certification, you must take the National Registry and submit proof no later than the beginning of the last semester of your program to receive the block credit hours). The remaining specified 25 general education semester hours can be taken either on site, extended campus classes, through correspondence, Internet courses, or telecourses. A total of 9 hours can be transferred from another community college or university with approval of your advisor. Please NOTE: You must make application to the Bowling Green Community College and have completed a minimum of 16 semester hours through the on site classes, extended campus classes, correspondence, telecourses, or the Internet after application/acceptance to the community college to receive a degree from Western Kentucky University. You may transfer the other 9 semester hours from another University/Community College.
