NPO to hold rally Submitted by the Nurses Professional Organization/AFSCME/AFL-CIO LOUISVILLE — Join us Tuesday, August 31 at 9:00 AM at the University of Louisville School of Law 3rd and Eastern Parkway for a news conference and rally. The News Conference and Rally precede the National Labor Relations Board hearings which are open to the public. NPO invites everyone to attend the hearings also. We know that everyone is busy, so if you are only able to do one thing, please join us at the 9 AM rally on Tuesday, Aug. 31. The hearings are scheduled for:
The Aug. 31 hearing on U of L Hospital involves telling nurses they cannot write letters nor talk about grievances and working conditions and threatening to have nurses removed by security from the area next to the cafeteria for distributing union literature. The Sept. 1 hearing on Norton Hospital and Norton Audubon Hospital concerns the discipline of a nurse for talking to others about the contracting out of the housekeeping jobs and a no solicitation, no distribution, and no access policy designed to block any ability to organize.
