Lord we know you are always busy
for you've many things to do
But when sorrow overcomes us
Well, we need to talk to you.
For we've lost someone precious
And they're with you there above
And it's someone that we needed
And it's someone that we love....
We are feeling lost and all alone
And though we do believe
We need you lord to hold us up
To help us while we grieve
Please give us strength and courage lord
To bear what we must bear
And nudge us when our faith is weak
To remind us you are there
Give us hopes for our tomorrows
Tell us life will still go on
Show us lord that all this darkness
Will be followed by the dawn
You've led us through so many things
you've pulled us through before
Hold us up lord til we're through this
And we are strong once more. AMEN

God bless the families

Our Angels With Wings
Dedicated to 43-Echo

Bless those, thy angels
Who fly in the sky
To help those that are sick or injured

For each flight
Brings you closer to
The Heavens above

But should your wings give way,
Take heed,
For God has called upon you
The chosen, the few, the brave
To be his personal chariots
Under his care.

Though heartache below will prevail
We will remember the love you gave
To each and everyone you touched
In both times of sickness and in health

Do not fear
We will go on
And carry with each of us
A part of you
And through peace, we will know
That when our time comes
We shall have you
As our angels with wings
       ________________________________________

On Silver Wings

Life is a gift given to us all
precious moments in time, winter to fall
When life's burdens seem too enormous to bear,
look in your hearts, for they will be there.

Kindred souls on silver wings
set free from earth's boundries to fly the heavens.

In life they were brave,
As we must be now to continue their legacy
and find the way how

Three spirits free, not bound anymore
Godspeed, on your way, as you're learning to soar

A Friend <anyone@anywhere.com>
My heart, soul, and tears go out to you

My heart was deeply touched by the emotion of attending the Memorial Service with my fiance who is an EMT. I just wanted to say on behalf of all the people whose lives are helped and saved due to people such as this crew so suddenly taken away, thank you for being there. To the families of the ones lost, you are thought of daily and in the prayers of many.

"Through the eyes of one person they are common, through the eyes of another they are exceptional, standing above the rest, no one compares to them, standing in awe, yet, to another simply one more person on the street, nothing more, he does not realize that that person meant much more to another, he is a hero..." (taken from "The Hero" written by Gabe Bizeau who lost his mother to cancer as a teen). Words can not begin to describe the great loss you and your families have suffered. My husband and I were friends of Brian and while the loss of this friend is painful, the gain from knowing him is tremendous. His memory will be with us for a lifetime! Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of Brian, Sheila, Dan, and Ernie.

I am here with a heavy heart. One transport after another, we take the call and do the job. I recieved the call shortly after midnight from friends of UK to let their ohio helicopter family know. I had the GREAT pleasure to work with Don. I never knew Don to have a bad day. EVERY morning at 0700hrs Don came in with a smile on his face and a kind word to say. He loved his wife and family extremely, he talked about them often. He and I would reflected back to our "country" days; and how we have it easy now a days. I will greatly miss him. He was an excellent pilot and more importantly an excellent friend! My heart goes out to his family. May my prayers reach the other team members family. What fine people. May God bless you all.

Having known Sheila from childhood, first as my neighbor, then in band, then as an adult, I have always admired her talent, her dedication, her energy, her sense of humor, her easy laugh, her love for her family, her faith in God.

God has taken this beautiful rose from among us, so that she may now dwell in His presence in Heaven. I pray that she is even now playing upon her celestial harp to the delight of the  angels of Glory.

To the crew and family members of 43-Echo, I offer my heartfelt sympathy. May God speak comfort to your heart with words no man can utter.

I have been an EMT for the last eleven years in Florida. I got to know Don and Ernie from working at Tac-Air while living in KY for a short time due to a family crisis, They were the most pleasant men that I have ever met. We swapped patches and pins the day I met them back in January of this year. They flew back to the airport after I refueled them just to give me 2 patches and 4 pins. I worked with them for the next few months and I got to know them, after all I work in emergency medical services too, were a big family ! I flew back to KY after I heard of the accident. I did attend the memorial services. I came to represent our department and my state. I cannot find the words to express my sorrow. I will greatly miss my friends. EMS is a family we laugh, we cry, and we comfort one another. God will heal our pain. God be with those families.

I have been a medic for just over 1 year, but I already know so many of the flight crews and personnel. Thanks for all the service that you provide. Thanks for giving people a chance to live. If I smile at you when you land, know that while I'm giving a report to you I'm thinking of Ernie and Don and Brian and Sheila, and accept my unspoken gratitude on their behalf. Thanks for just being there. We love you.

When any Emeregency Services staff are lost anywhere it seems as if you have lost some of your own service. Speaking for myself and my service, our prayers go out for the UK Flight Service, the staff they lost, and the families who lost loved ones during this terrible tragedy. May God be with each and every one of you.

As I looked around at the Memorial Service in Lexington, I realized that I knew more faces there than I probably would have at a funeral in my own home town. It brought home how much of a family EMS really is. I hope that thought can bring some comfort to the families. The UK crew was there for others - now we are here for you.

In the words of one of my favorite old songs:
"When death has come and taken our loved ones,
It leaves our home so lonely and drear;
Then do we wonder why others prosper,
Living so wicked year after year.
Farther along we'll know all about it,
Farther along we'll understand why;
Cheer up, my brother, live in the sunshine,
We'll understand it all by and by."

May God bless you and your children.

If i'm gone when you wake up,
please don't cry....
If i'm gone when you wake up,
it's not goodbye....
Don't look back at this time as a time
of heartbreak and distress....
because I will be with you always....
in your heart and in your dreams....
Don't cry...I'm with you......
Don't cry...I love you....
Right here I will always be........

This is dedicated to the brave crew of 43 Echo and to everyone who is feeling sadness from this tremendous loss....
