Virtual condolences book This virtual condolence book was provided for anyone who wished to offer their comments of support and sympathy to the crew and family members of the University of Kentucky Air Medical Services team that died in a tragic incident on June 14, 1999. The condolence book was closed to further entries on June 22. Volume 1 Words can't express how sorry I am for the families of these caring professionals. They
are in all our prayers My deepest sympathy for all families of the crew who lost their lives serving their
fellow Kentuckians. I lost 4 family members in a car accident in Iowa in 1980, so I know
how this feels. Also, my family were attended by EMTs immediately at the scene of the
accident, and I appreciate the wonderful work done by all emergency medical personnel. All
the families will be in my thoughts and prayers. As a Medic, and the husband of a Flight Nurse, my prayers are with the friends and
family of the crew. We cannot change the past, but we can be there for you. God Bless. PLEASE ACCEPT MY CODOLENCES FOR EACH MEMBER OF THE AIRCRAFT AND ALSO TO THE FAMILIES OF
EACH MEMBER.MAY THE LORD BE WITH EACH OF YOU. My prayers go out to the families of the crew who gave the their great skills to help
those who needed them the most,We all in the EMS field are a close nit family and this
really hits home.. I want to send my heart felt condolence to the Family's and the Co-works of the flight
crew who made their last flight on the morning of June 14th 1999. I knew some of the crew
members personaly. I know thet they where doing a job they some much loved. I want
everyone to know that the whole EMS community feels the lost of the 4 flight crew members
that gave their lives doing a job that we all love some much. These 4 persons are the TRUE
UNSUNG HERO'S. These are my friends and colleagues. I personally knew Sheila who patiently oriented me
to UK's ED when I first started. Even on a Saturday night in the "hell hole" she
never said anything negative to staff or patients. It was pleasure to come to work and
know she would be part of the team that night. This is how I remember her. Always smiling,
always caring. In our line of work we know that life is precious and temporary. May Sheila
and the crew remind us to smell the flowers, look at sunsets, and to spend time with our
families. Our heartfelt thanks goes to all of the families for sharing their loved ones
with us. We all work and play a little easier knowing that if something bad happens, there
is a flight crew nearby ready to help us. You are saints on earth. How many of us, while on the job or our own time, upon hearing the familiar sound of a
passing helicopter look up and try and determine if it's an air ambulance or just another
chopper ? We look up with a sense of admiration and maybe a little envy but always with
respect for those who serve in that area oF EMS ! God bless all of the Families (at home
and at work) who have lost so very much in this tragedy, may you find peace very soon... On behalf of all Emergency Service Agencies of McLean County, I wish to express our
most sincere sorrow for your loss. Please be assured that the families both natural and
professional will be in our prayers. Thanks to God we now have four more angels looking
out for the rest of us. My thoughts and prayers are with those families of the victims. They passed doing what
they loved. My thoughts and most heart felt prayers are with the families and friends of these most
honerable individuals. May the families and friends find strength in God's love at this
time of pain and sorrow. May God lift the spirits of those left behind. My prayers go out for the families and
friends of those heros lost for the sake of others. My Condolences go out to all the families of the crew and to their co workers.God bless

we like everyone else in Kentucky and across the U.S. feel the heartache and loss of a
fallen comrade in this tragic accident. As we go out to do our everyday jobs we only think
about the ones we are going to help we never think about the dangers or loss of life we
could encounter I guess that is just part of the selfless sacrifice and my we love doing
our jobs! When something like this happens we are brought back to reality and see we to
are only human. The ultimate sacrifice was given by U.K. flight crew at 22:08 on June
14,1999 there memory will live forever in our hearts and the lives they saved. Through our
tragic loss God has gotten four of our finest EMS brothers and sister. On Monday night
their flight wings were traded for angel wings!!! As they look down from heaven may they
keep us all safe as we continue their work here on earth. God bless you all you will
forever be in our memory. Fly high sweet angels!!! They may be gone, but they will never be forgotten. We are all family in the EMS field
and they will be forever in our hearts and minds. As the wife of a flight medic my sorrow goes to the families and friends of the

is with every one of the family members and friends. Please accept our sorrow and
condolence. May God Bless You and Keep You.... My prayers go out to the families of 43echo. Every time the rotor turns, I will
remember your loved ones and have a sense of security in knowing that one of our own is
looking over us while we continue the work they were so proud to do. God Bless all of you.
The people your loved ones cared for must be so thankful that you so willingly shared them
in their time of need. I will wear my memorial wings with pride. It is so hard to find the words to express how we feel about the tragic loss of two
brave and dedicated EMS professionals and two equaly brave and highly trained and
experienced pilots. It takes someone with a great deal of courage and someone willing to
put forth the extra effort to work aero-medical services. They will all be missed by their
families, co-workers, and the rest of us in the EMS community. Gods peace be with you all. FOREVER REMEMBERANCE AND PRAYERS FOR THE FALLEN HEROES.GOD BLESS FAMILIES, FRIENDS AND
COWORKERS. To the co-workers, family, and friends of the 4 who perished in the awful tragedy. They
where angels on earth to the people they cared for, now they are Gods angels in heaven.
They are heros, they gave their life to provide us with the service that has saved many
lives in the mountains and for that we are truly grateful They may be gone, but they will
never be forgotten. We are all family in the EMS field and they will be forever in our
hearts and minds. Our deepest sympathy is expressed to the family and friends of the crew members. We
will certainly have you in our thoughts and prayers. May God Bless you in this time of
loss. As an ambulance driver, I know the importance of having helicoper service from the
mountains to the UK hospital. I am sorry for the families of the victims. I hope this
service can continue. They were giving a very needed service to our people of the mountains. This service is
certainly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the co-workers and the families of the

family member, co-worker, and friend. May God bless you all. As I climbed into my helicopter yesterday to respond to someone in need, I prayed that
my brass wings I wear so proudly would someday be transformed into angel wings just like
the angels of 43echo that I once worked with and admire so much, especially today. Please
save a seat for me in Heaven. And please look after all of us until we can join you once
again. Our prayers go out to the families of those who have lost love ones. May god bless your

wounderful example of unselfish, and lasting public servants at great risk to yourselves
every day. May you have beautiful blue skys and God Speed on your final flight home. We
will miss you all and will never forget. My deepest condolences to the families and friends In the same way that we share the sunrise and sunset, we also share the sorrow that

Aeromedical, and our thoughts and prayers are with you. My deepest sympathies go out to the families and co-workers of 43 ECHO. In extending
the deepest of condolences, we will always know that the legacy that this team had
started, will always live in the lives that they have saved. Once again we are saddened by the news that more of our comrades have fallen. We want
to send our heartfelt sympathy to all of the co-workers, friends, and family during this
time of great loss. These brave friends of ours have assisted us many times, night and
day, and although they are gone, they will never be forgotten. Once this dark cloud passes
over, and the sun shines again, we will look to the heavens and see our friends flying
once more. A terrible shame. There is no way of decribing how deeply saddened I am by this terrible tragedy. My
heart goes out to the UK staff and all EMS personnel that these people new and worked
with, and also to their families. Although I didn't know the rest of the flight crew, I
did know Brian Harden very well. I had a great amount of respect for Brian, not only in
this line of work but as a "person". As many of you know...we lost another medic
in our service (August 29, 1998 Michael Payton) and Brian served as pallbearer then. We
now have 2 angels looking over us!!! Our prayers and thoughts go out to the family, friends and co-workers in this time of
sadness. God Bless you all. As a former flight nurse, I learned that we must depend upon each other--for strength,
