270 area code now active for western Kentucky

The 270 area code is now active for western Kentucky. While you can still use the 502 area code for this region, you will be required to dial 270 starting November 1.

If any phone numbers that had a 502 area code began with any of the prefixes in the table below, then the new area code is 270.

Now is the time to begin preparing for the change. You may need to update your phone lists and may also need to reprogram telecommunications equipment like speed dialers, fax machines, PBXs -- virtually anything that dials numbers automatically.
