EMS Council meeting rescheduled

FRANKFORT — The previously announced date for the May meeting of the Kentucky EMS Council (May 25) is primary election day across the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Therefore it will be necessary to change the scheduled meeting date for the May meeting to Wednesday, May 26, 1999.

I am sorry for the inconvenience this change may cause some of you. However, the state primary election was not noted on our calendars when we originally made the schedule for the year. Keeping the original date would have meant that individuals far out in the state would have been forced to choose between attending our meetings or exercising their right to vote since many must travel long distances to come to Frankfort. Also, we could not wait for another week due to deadlines we must meet for our recommendations to KY Board of Medical Licensure.

We anticipate the usual format for the May Council meetings with committees meeting in the morning and the full Council meeting on Wednesday afternoon. The EMS Training Committee is having a meeting May 6 at 10:00 a.m. CDT at the Hopkins County Court House in Madisonville. They may also meet again on Tuesday afternoon before the Council meeting depending on need.
