Two more paramedic recertification testing sites announced

FRANKFORT — The following examination schedule has been established for paramedics who expire on June 30, 1999.

  • 9:00 a.m. EST - Friday, May 7, 1999 - Jefferson County EMS, 7201 Outer Loop, Louisville, KY. 40228
  • 9:00 a.m. EST - Tuesday, May 11, 1999 - Lexington Fire Training Center, 1375 Old Frankfort Pike, Lexington, KY
  • 9:00 a.m/ EST - Thursday, May 13, 1999 - Barren Metcalf Ambulance Service, 703 E. Main Street, Glasgow, KY 42141
  • 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. CST - Monday, May 17, 1999 - Caldwell County EMS, Princeton, KY.
  • 9:00 a.m. EST - Thursday, May 20, 1999 - Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County, 420 West Fifth Street, London, KY 40741
  • 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. CST - Friday, May 21, 1999 - Regional Medical Center Ambulance, Madisonville, KY.
  • 9:00 a.m. EST - Thursday, May 27, 1999 - Health Services Building, 2nd Floor Boardroom, 275 East Main, Frankfort, KY 40621
  • 10:00 a.m. CST - Tuesday, June 8, 1999 - Medical Center at Bowling Green, Auditorium, Bowling Green, KY

The regulation pertaining to the renewal of certification, 201 KAR 9:121(6) requires sixty (60) hours of approved in-service training and successful completion of a renewal examination with a minimum score of 80%.

In order for your certification to be renewed for the next two years, you must submit to the EMS Branch NO LATER THAN June 11, 1999, the following:

1. A completed, renewal application form;
2. A certified check or money order made payable to the Kentucky State Treasurer in the amount of $35.00;
3. Copies of current ACLS card and Kentucky EMT card; and,
4. The completed in-service training form and performance evaluation forms (2) signed by your ALS medical director
