Bill would extricate EMTs from NREMT testing By JOHN HULTGREN FRANKFORT — A bill introduced in the Kentucky House today would remove the requirement that new Emergency Medical Technicians continue to be certified under the requirements and testing procedures established by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians. Instead, the bill would require that a new mechanism for testing be created by the Kentucky Board of EMS. Kentucky House Bill 462 was introduced by Rep. Ted Edmonds (D-91) who represents Breathitt, Estill, and Lee counties.
