Seminar addresses liability and safety By FAYE RICE BARBOURVILLE — Mountain Valley Insurance and ESIP will be presenting a seminar on Wednesday, January 9th, at The Center for Rural Development in Somerset. The first session is scheduled for 3:30 to 5:00 for EMS Providers. The topic is “EMS Liability and How to Reduce It.” This class reviews the root causes for legal actions resulting from EMS operations and how to reduce them. The second class, entitled “Arrive Safely…Save Lives,” is scheduled for 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. This class will look at the dangers involved with emergency vehicle operations and the consequences involved, and offer suggestions to assist departments in arriving safely and saving lives. The speaker will be Bill Tricarico, Loss Control Director For the Emergency Services Insurance Program. Bill is a nationally known speaker and has 25 years experience as a firefighter, serving as Chief and Fire Commissioner. There is no fee, and those attending are welcome to attend both sessions.
