Governor makes new appointment to KBEMS

FRANKFORTGovernor Ernie Fletcher has appointed H. Joseph Prewitt, of Bardstown, to the Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services.

Prewitt is the director of emergency medical services for Nelson County and is a licensed paramedic.  He is a member of the board of the Kentucky Ambulance Providers Association and is certified in emergency medical training.  He is married to Eva Prewitt.

The Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services certifies first responders and emergency medical technicians and licenses paramedics and ambulance services.  The board, attached to the Kentucky Community and Technical College System, is made up of 18 members appointed by the Governor in conjunction with organizations recognized by state emergency medical services.
