Louisville's Norton Southwest Medical Center to close Tuesday

LOUISVILLE — Effective July 31, 2007 at midnight, Norton Southwest Medical Center will cease operations of all services including Emergency Services.  Beginning at 10:00 a.m. on July 31, 2007, Norton Southwest Medical Center will commence diversion.  From that moment, please divert all patients from this community to Norton Audubon Hospital or another receiving facility.

In addition, it may be necessary to transfer patients from Norton Southwest to Norton Audubon Hospital.  Patients in the Southwest ED will begin transferring to Norton Audubon around 9:00 p.m.  As the 31st approaches, a representative from Norton Healthcare will contact ambulance services to review our intentions.  Communication on July 31st will be essential to preserve both quality and service with these patients and families.
