Funeral arrangements for Britney Prewitt

BARDSTOWNBritney Joe Prewitt, 17, the daughter of Nelson County EMS Director Joe Prewitt and assistant director Eva Prewitt, passed away yesterday afternoon at her residence.

A public visitation will be held Thursday from 2 pm until 8 pm at the Mann and Greenwell Funeral Home, 212 S. Third Street, in Bardstown. (Click for directions.)

The funeral will be held Friday at 11 am at Parkway Baptist Church, 2580 Springfield Road, in Bardstown. Burial will be at Saint Josephs Cemetery (N 37o 49.379'  W 085o 27.549).

EMS workers attending the funeral are requested to wear their EMS uniform.

Following burial, there will be a pot-luck meal at Parkway Baptist Church for all those attending the services.

Joe Prewitt is the Region 5 representative to the Kentucky Ambulance Providers Association. Eva Prewitt is an EMT-Instructor, a coordinator for the Kentucky EMS Conference and Expo, and serves on the Kentucky Board of EMS Education Task Force.

Britney was born November 24, 1989 in Louisville and was a senior at Nelson County High School. She was a member of the Nelson County High School Varsity Cheerleading Squad and the Future Farmers of America (FFA). She was a member of the Kentucky Quarter Horse Youth Association and had a love of horses. She was employed at B.J.'s Bar and Grill. Britney was a member of the Parkway Baptist Church.

Britney is survived by her parents Joey and Eva Prewitt of Bardstown; a sister: Missy Prewitt of Bardstown; Her paternal grandparents: Harold and Dorothy Prewitt of Bardstown; Her maternal grandparents: Philip and Rita Greenwell of Cox's Creek; and Several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Susan Jewell of Bloomfield, a special friend, also survives.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to The Asthma and Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
