Corrections/clarifications

Due to a reporting error, the Kentucky EMS Connection incorrectly reported on May 10 that KBEMS' medical liability insurance was cancelled when KBEMS transitioned to KCTCS' insurance policy.

According to KBEMS interim executive director Ashley Davis, KBEMS never carried medical liability insurance.

On May 17 the Kentucky EMS Connection reported that KBEMS attorney Kyle Thompson was seeking a settlement with KBEMS related to a reported suspension without pay. This information was obtained by the Kentucky EMS Connection during an interview with Lewis Prewitt, the Kentucky Community and Technical College System Director of Human Resources, and is believed to be correct but cannot be readily confirmed.

According to an e-mail sent by Thompson to the Kentucky EMS Connection on May 17, Thompson writes that KCTCS contacted him May 11 "in the attempt to settle this matter." Thompson adds "I have never requested a settlement, but I will listen to their offers."
