Kentucky Office of Homeland Security News Release

FRANKFORTThe Kentucky Office of Homeland Security has announced that the homeland security grant application for 2007 will be available online beginning April 2.

The application may be found by visiting www.homelandsecurity.ky.gov. Additionally, grant application workshops will be held throughout the state in April to ensure local officials are informed of the grant process and the 2007 state strategy for distributing homeland security funds.

Each application must arrive back to the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security no later than June 15, 2006. Grant award notices will be issued no later than August 31, 2007.

“I would like to encourage our commonwealth’s state and local agencies looking to apply for homeland security funds and take advantage of these workshops,” said (Ret.) Maj. Alecia Webb-Edgington, Director of the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security. “Kentucky’s state strategy for distributing funds in 2007 is even more tightly focused this year, making the workshops a vital resource that will ensure each community has the information they need to submit a competitive application.”

State and local officials with questions concerning the grant application process may contact the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security Grant Department by calling (502) 564-2081.
