STATCARE will open new base in Milton STATCARE Press Release LOUISVILLE — STATCARE, a leading provider of air medical services in Kentucky, will be adding a base in Milton this spring. The base, which will operate 24-hours a day, seven days a week, joins STATCARE's existing bases in Louisville and Glasgow. Located adjacent to the Milton Fire Department and Trimble County EMS, the new base site broadens the program's geographic reach by serving communities of Northern Kentucky, Southern Indiana, and even portions of Ohio. "We are very excited about STATCARE locating to Trimble County," explains Chief Ronnie Barnes of the Milton Fire Department. "Not only will this be a big asset to patient care in our county, but also to the counties surrounding us. We are very proud to be a part in this transition." "By adding a base site to the Milton area, STATCARE can more effectively serve the central corridor of the state," said STATCARE Program Director Karen Moulton. "As our tagline states: When minutes matter, when experience matters, trust STATCARE." The STATCARE program currently provides air medical transport for patients between some of Kentucky's finest hospitals. The program uses a multi-faceted approach when transporting patients by integrating its helicopter and fixed wing (airplane) and even ground ambulances when necessary. Regardless of the complexity of the patient's medical condition, STATCARE can seamlessly provide the appropriate transport option. The new Milton base will operate a new Eurocopter 135 aircraft. The twin-engine aircraft is capable of cruising at approximately 160 mph and can carry two patients, plus two medical crew members and a pilot. The EC 135 is ideally suited for the STATCARE program, providing local and medium-range air medical transports. In keeping with the program's mission of providing safe and efficient air medical services, the EC 135s provide outstanding performance for STATCARE's pilots, medical crews and specialty teams. "We are excited to be expanding into the Milton community and very thankful for the hospitality we have received," added Moulton. "We are dedicated to providing air medical services to the rural communities of Kentucky and Southern Indiana and look forward to providing safe, speedy, and high quality care to the citizens within these communities."
