Funeral arrangements for Neil Kellen, former Henderson EMS director
By JOHN HULTGREN HENDERSON — Neil Kellen, the former director for Henderson EMS, died yesterday morning. As one of the founders of Henderson EMS, Kellen spearheaded many programs that benefited their community, including Henderson's first responder program and AED program with the county fire department. Kellen was also a member of the Kentucky BTLS Steering Committee and served on numerous state EMS committees during his career. He also served as secretary for the Kentucky Ambulance Providers Association. "Neil was an exceptional man who was dedicated to Emergency Medical Services," wrote Tim Mahone, director of EMS for Methodist Hospital. "Neil's work will not go unnoticed. He affected many people through-out his life in a very positive manner. Neil was a very devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed." The funeral will be held at Benton Glunt Funeral Home, 629 South Green Street, in Henderson, Kentucky. Visitation will be on Monday, October 2, from 2pm until 8pm. Then funeral will be held Tuesday, October 3, at Benton Glunt Funeral Home followed by burial at Baskett Cemetery. The funeral home phone number is (270) 827-3535.
