All EMS personnel get one year KAEMT membership free
By STEVE BECRAFT Hello and welcome. Each month I try to write a letter to post on information about KAEMT, and what is happening in Kentucky in regards to EMS. This month my letter concerns KAEMT and its membership. At the Annual General Membership meeting held in Owensboro last year at the KAPA conference in September, the KAEMT Officers and BOG’s present voted on an issue that is big a goal of mine since I became President. They voted that beginning September 30th, 2006 all certified EMS Personnel in Kentucky would become a member of KAEMT for one (1) year, free of charge. Then beginning in September 30th, 2007 all EMS personnel wishing to remain as member would pay an annual due of $5.00. This will cause the annual dues to be reduced from $20.00 that they are presently at. When I became president of KAEMT I had two goals. A goal of increasing our membership, and providing education to all EMS personnel in Kentucky. One of the goals has already been accomplished and we are working on the other. We are in the process of setting up a data system so we can keep up with all of who will be members of KAEMT. Our second goal of education was done when we provide a spring conference in Morehead, Kentucky, and plans are underway for next year’s conference. Also KAEMT will once again be hosting the Kentucky EMS Olympics. We are working on this project and if you are interested please look frequently for announcements in the near future. 2006 KAEMT Accomplished Goals:
