Funeral arrangements for Ken Murray

LOUISVILLE — The funeral service for Ken Murray will begin at 2:00 pm Thursday at the Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Hwy, in Louisville. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2 pm - 8 pm. Kenneth A. Murray, 50, passed away Monday, July 24, at Baptist Hospital East. He had been a Kentucky paramedic since 1978, beginning his career in Richmond, KY, stating that it was the old Emergency! television show that inspired him. He then worked as a paramedic for the City of Louisville for 16 years, being one of the first twelve paramedics in the state, and during which time he received the Mayor's Commendation of Valor. Ken then worked for four years for Jewish Hospital SKYCARE and the last eight years for Louisville Medical Center STATCARE. He was a proud member of the National Registry of Paramedics. Ken was also a paint ball and motorcycle enthusiast, and was a member of the Harvest Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of thirty years, the former Nancy Isaacs; sons, Jeremy Jess, Ryan Anthony, Alex Kenneth, and daughter, Megan Katherine Murray; and two sisters, Sandra Rogers and Angela Gimmel. Memorial gifts may be made to KODA. STATCARE is hosting a Virtual Remembrance Book for collecting stories and remembrances to share with his four children.
