Clinton County Hospital helipad closed

ALBANY — The Clinton County Hospital helipad is closed until further notice.

All helicopter ambulance services should land at the Clinton County EMS helipad that is used by Air Evac 14 (N 36 42.56 W 85 08.12). This helipad is large enough to land two large aircraft with one on the pad and one on the blacktop alternate LZ beside the regular pad.

The access road to the helipad is gated and only Clinton County EMS crews can open the gate.

If a flight program other than Air Evac is arriving, call Air Evac Lifeteam's Communications Center at 1-800-247-3822 to let the returning crew know. Also call Clinton County EMS at 606-387-9243 to confirm ground transport.

The hospital has two cranes working on their expansion, and one crane is up at all times. The helipad lights have been on since the expansion began and for some reason they have not been able to turn them off, leading to some confusion on where to land.

For ground crews, the regular ER doors have not changed but you have to access them from the rear of the hospital from Pineview Dr.
