KBEMS slated to be placed under KCTCS

FRANKFORT — The Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services is headed towards being attached to the Kentucky Community and Technical College System.

Kentucky House Bill 155, originally intended as a "clean up" bill for KBEMS, was later amended to attach KBEMS to KCTCS. The bill specifies that employees would be transferred to KCTCS' personnel system. Existing funding would also be transferred to KCTCS.

The Kentucky Fire Commission is also attached to KCTCS.

The bill passed unanimously in the House on Jan. 20 and unanimously again in the Senate yesterday.
