FRANKFORT
— Kentucky Board of EMS Advisor/Inspector Keith Smith, on his own,
has designed a t-shirt to commemorate the work Kentucky EMS
agencies performed last year during the relief efforts for
Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita.
While deployed to Beaumont, Texas,
a group of us thought it would be neat to come up with a t-shirt
marking the work of all of the people who assisted in the
hurricane relief efforts," Smith recalled. "Well, I got home and
did some work and came up with a design."
"After
much soul searching and financial planning, I designed and had
printed several t-shirts to use as a prototype for folks to see if
they would like to purchase. One thing I want to make clear here
is that I am not trying to make a profit. I am only interested in
making sure I don't lose money."
"I just think that after all of
the outstanding work everyone did, they should have something to
remember the year by."
The KBEMS symbol is located on the front left breast and the map
is centered on the back.
"Even though I used the KBEMS symbol, with their permission, no
state funds have been used to do this. I used their symbol
because we worked under an EMAC agreement with KBEMS being the
parent organization."
