Lots of lost backboards awaiting pickup at UofL

LOUISVILLE — Over 100 long spine boards are awaiting pickup by their owners at UofL Hospital.

The boards have been cleaned by Sterile Processing at UofL and include boards from Metro EMS, Rural Metro, Spencer County, Clark County (Indiana), numerous manufacturing plants, metro suburban fire departments, and other local EMS agencies.

There are also boards with no identification, and some marked only with initials.

To claim these boards, park your vehicle at the loading dock (at the corner of Jackson and Ali), go through the dock door, and bear left to the stairwell entrance. Take the steps down to the hospital and follow the hallway to your left. The boards are located on wire racks in the hallway outside of Sterile Processing.

You may use the freight elevator to take your boards back to the loading dock. The loading dock is open Monday through Friday from 0800 until 1600 hrs.

UofL Hospital would appreciate the timely removal of these boards from their hallway.
