9-03-05 2330: Directed to
East Side Fire Dept, Baton Rouge, for group staging area.
9-04-o5 0100: Standing by
in staging area in support of local fire and EMS agencies and
preplanning.
9-04-05 2300: Ordered for
immediate departure to I-10 and Hwy 610 interchange in New Orleans
with all personnel, vehicles and supplies. Our mission is to
establish a unified command to support search and rescue, medical
triage and treatment of refugees. Mission is expected to last 48
hours providing command and support to multi-jurisdictional,
multi-state force (multiple disciplines).
9-05-05: Deployed 80 boats
with 300+ people to provide recon, search and rescue, and
evacuation. Multiple missions were launched over the next 36 hours
in specific areas of New Orleans. Throughout the event we received
multi-state physicians, RNs, EMTs, paramedics, search and rescue
teams, ambulances including an air ambulance. Teams made contact
with 350 residents and assisted in the evacuation and treatment of
