By MARCUS BARNETT
Director, Ohio County EMS

HARTFORDOhio County EMS is taking food, water and other items, such as personal hygiene and diapers, to the Gulf Coast Saturday around noon.

Collections were started two days ago and have had a very good
turn out.

Ohio County EMS has leased a Hertz truck and hope to fill this truck by the time it departs. Also going are two Ohio County EMS paramedics whose wifes, who are Registered Nurses, are already there.

One of the nurses there close to Hattiesburg says she has slept on the ground the past two nights.

Let's all pull together and help these folks in any way we can. Ee have had donations from businesses, and churches, and the public. We hope to get more to send but right now we need to send things ASAP.

Ohio County EMS is providing these supplies in support of the Kentucky Baptist relief effort. EMS Employee Doug Strader and his wife Holly are members of a Mobile Canteen currently operating in Long Beach, Mississippi that is under the direction of the Southern Baptist Association." The canteen, Known as the Kentucky Kitchen,  started the process of feeding several thousand homeless people in the Long Beach area on the evening of Sept 1.
