KBEMS update from EOC

By BRIAN BISHOP
Kentucky Board of EMS

FRANKFORTThe morning update from the Boone Emergency Operations Center was held at 0900.  We are expecting up to and additional 5 inches of rain before 0800 tomorrow morning.  Again you are encouraged to review your local flood plans as small streams may be overwhelmed with water.  Winds will likely increase during the day and may reach speeds up to 50 mph.  Please make any necessary plans for response in your area.

In addition, we are beginning to receive EMAC request from points in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama for personnel and units.  We are requesting any service director that has units available to dispatch to the gulf coast please contact Brian Bishop via e-mail at brian.bishop@ky.gov or via phone at 502-330-9001.  Please make sure that any units you release will not place a burden on your normal operations.  Should you have units available please provide the following information: Quality, type, service name, contact person for deployment, phone number, and days available. Please DO NOT self dispatch any personnel or units to the southern states!

Thank you for your cooperation in this extensive effort.  The next update will come after the 4pm Boone Center Briefing.
