Hardin Memorial hosts 3rd Annual Trauma Symposium in March By
CATHERINE COOLIDGE ELIZABETHTOWN — Hardin Memorial Hospital is hosting their 3rd Annual Trauma Symposium on March 17th in the 5th floor auditorium. This symposium is geared towards emergency care providers both in the pre-hospital and hospital setting. There will be a variety of speakers at the symposium including our keynote speaker, Ret. Sgt. Maj. Tony Rose who was present at the Pentagon on September 11th and more recently gave the keynote address at the Veterans Presidential Inaugural Ball for President Bush. Other speakers include Dr. J. David Richardson, trauma surgeon and professor at the University of Louisville, Dr. Amanda Ryden, with Elizabethtown Emergency Physicians, and Mike Poynter, EMT-P from STATCARE. This is but a small sample of the dynamic speakers presenting at the symposium this year. Some of the various topics being presented include: terrorism in the U.S., understanding gunshot wounds and chest and thorasic trauma management.
