Firehouse that burned down receives insurance check in 5 days

Mountain Valley Insurance Press Release

WILBORG — Faye Rice and Kim Wilburn of Mountain Valley Insurance and Steve Shahan with McNeil & Company presented a claim check in the amount of $50,000 to Chief J.R. Jones of the North McCreary County Fire Department last Monday.

The fire department’s garage, along with four of their trucks, had burned on Wednesday, Feb. 2.

Chief Jones said of the swift response to the claim, “It sure is good of ESIP to step up to the plate and get us this check so fast. We would still be fighting with our old insurance company. We’ve had two claims since we’ve been insured with ESIP, and both times they’ve come through for us. We’re a low budget department, and we really appreciate getting these funds so we can carry on.”

Mountain Valley Insurance is a Regional Agent for McNeil & Co’s Emergency Services Insurance Program (ESIP). “We have represented  ESIP since 1997,” Rice said.  “We work together to make sure our policyholders are taken care of, especially at a time like this. When we say we ‘protect the people who protect the people’, we mean it. This is an example of that.”
