PHI will begin using night vision goggles

PHI Air Medical of Kentucky Press Release

LEXINGTON PHI Air Medical of Kentucky is pleased to announce the introduction of Night Vision Goggles (NVG) technology to its fleet.  The safety of our patients and crew has always been one of the primary motivations behind our operations.  With the addition of NVG technology, the safety of flight will be dramatically bolstered. PHI Air Medical of Kentucky is the first air medical program in the State of Kentucky to employ this technology.

Quite often, patients that could benefit from air transport services are transported by ground due nighttime weather conditions.  With the addition of NVG’s, the ability to complete more of these flights will become a reality.

The first upgrade will occur with our aircraft at St. Claire Medical Center in Morehead.  Installation and crew training is slated for completion in early February.

For information about our NVG system please visit the following website: http://www.strainsecurity.com/ANVIS-9.htm
