of Kentucky's EMS responders due to recertify in December By
John Hultgren FRANKFORT — The Kentucky Board of EMS is mailing reminder letters to 6000 EMT First Responders, Basic, and Paramedics with a certification or license expiring in December. This year, background checks will be requested on every certification or license expiring in December. All of these letters have already been printed. Anyone who has a current address that is different from the address on their identification card, and if they have not submitted a change of address to KBEMS, may not receive this reminder letter. Those individuals should visit the KBEMS Internet site at kbems.ky.gov to download a recertification application and should also notify KBEMS of their current address. Any application that is not received by KBEMS by the individual's certification or license expiration date will not be renewed. Individuals will receive a copy of their background check in the mail and will not need to do anything further unless there is something on their background check that has not been disclosed. In that case, they will be notified by KBEMS.
