Davies County Fire adds second first response vehicle By
TIM BENNINGFIELD OWENSBORO — The Daviess County Fire Department has completed the second of two 2004 Ford Excursions. These vehicles respond to provide the County’s A.L.S. First Response service. The vehicles are Ford special service vehicles and feature the Triton V-10. D.C.F.D chose and installed the lighting package including the Whelan patriot L.E.D. light bar, 911EP star L.E.D. remote heads and a 200 watt Whelan siren including Q-function. The first Excursion was completed in November and is responsible for responding in western Daviess County. It carries a full contingent of basic as well as advanced life support medical equipment, including a Physio-Control LP 12 and all drugs as prescribed by D.C.’s medical director excluding narcotics. The second Excursion will back into the first bay of the nearly completed East Fire Station on June 1st. It will serve the citizens of eastern Daviess County and will be equipped identically. Along with the new vehicles D.C.F.D. added six personnel to the staff on March 19th. The recruit class will commence on April 5th. The new staff includes: Firefighter\EMT-PS Dan Bellamy, Firefighter\EMT Ronnie Bobo, Firefighter\EMT Trayson Campbell, Firefighter\EMT Jeff Mayfield, Firefighter\EMT-P Kurt Stumpf and Firefighter Kerry Pence.
