KAT also uses 'bat phone' concept in eastern and central Kentucky By
JASON MAAN LEXINGTON — In line with the excellent customer service provided by Vanderbilt LifeFlight, Kentucky Aeromedical Team (KAT) has also been implementing the “Bat Phone” concept in Central and Eastern Kentucky for the last few months. The
“KAT Phone”, which is bright red, can be utilized to “Call the KAT”
in the KAT service area. Presently, the KAT Phone is present in 25 hospitals in
Central and Eastern Kentucky. In
addition, KAT has taken the concept to the ground units themselves.
KAT is currently implementing the phones, which are cellular based,
in a number of ground ambulance and fire services. KAT
president, Gary Stromberg, states, “KAT will continue to take the lead in
its service area and provide cutting edge and forward thinking technologies
and processes to continue to benefit its customers in Central and Eastern
Kentucky. Although not a new
concept, the KAT Phone is a document of this commitment to ‘Healthcare for
Kentuckians by Kentuckians.’” Should
any hospital, ground ambulance, or fire service be interested in receiving
their own KAT Phone, they should contact 859-219-3053 to arrange for
installation. The phones are
installed and maintained at no expense to the user.
