LifeNet relocates aircraft to London Corbin Airport By
BO PHILLIPS LONDON — Beginning December 19, 2003 LifeNet will be providing service from the London Corbin Airport. LifeNet was asked by Marymount Medical Center to relocate their aircraft to make room for another provider. LifeNet has been looking for ways to improve response time and increase effectiveness in serving customers from this area. The location at Marymount was less than ideal in that due to the limited space within the hospital campus, the crew was forced to be housed a good distance from the helipad. This increased the crews ability to respond in a timely fashion. “We are committed to providing rapid, safe, reliable, high quality response to the customers in the region. We are an emergency response air medical service, our crews need to be housed within walking distance to the aircraft to insure quick response to emergency calls. We do not need to get in a car and drive to our helicopter.” says Tim Smith Program Director for LifeNet. “This is a direct reflection of our commitment to reduce our response time.” Smith added. LifeNet has long enjoyed serving the people in and around the London region for 13 years with the last 5 having an aircraft based in London, and when asked to leave, remained committed to staying within the area. The move to the airport will not only allow LifeNet to reduce response time, but with the benefits of being at the airport the LifeNet airplane can play a vital role in service to the region. The airport is well suited for the airplane to land and pickup patients in inclement weather. Air Methods Corporation, which is the parent company for LifeNet, is the largest and one of the safest medical helicopter providers in the world. The team at LifeNet brings you Quality and Experience you can Count on and remains the only air medical service in Kentucky that is Nationally Accredited to insure top notch patient care.
