LifeNet posts records during October

By TIM SMITH
LifeNet Press Release

LEXINGTON LifeNet posted a record month in October by transporting 191 patients, the largest number of patient transports in LifeNet’s history.

What is exciting is that LifeNet accomplished this while also achieving some other perhaps more important achievements. LifeNet has significantly reduced the overall time it takes for a patient to arrive at definitive care.

We have concentrated on shortening the times that we have control over such as lift off, flight, and scene times. One key way to decrease lift off times is configure our bases so that the aircraft are near the crew and our bases are located in the communities where they are needed most. We are also reducing scene times is by offering free “Scene Team” training which helps everyone choreograph the patient transfer on a scene. To get more information or to schedule a “Scene Team” program please call 859-253-8900 or toll-free 888-808-0488

LifeNet has, as a result, increased its number of scene flight as compared to its hospital transfers. Tim Smith, LifeNet’s Program Director, attributes this to focusing on meeting the EMS community’s needs. The overall goal is to increase LifeNet’s focus on being a responsive partner to the EMS agencies in providing high quality patient care.

LifeNet’s parent company is also announced good news. On November 1st Air Methods Corporation announced its third quarter earnings which were a historical high. Air Methods Corporation (www.airmethods.com) is a leader in emergency air medical transportation, medical services and technology. The Air Medical Services Division is the largest provider of air medical transport services for hospitals in the world. The LifeNet division is the largest community-based provider of air medical services. The Products Division specializes in the design and manufacture of air medical and aerospace technology. The Company's fleet of owned, leased or maintained aircraft features over 170 helicopters and fixed wing aircraft.
