Explorer Post 911 and Louisville Fire & Rescue will host 2nd annual Youth Fire Academy

LOUISVILLE — Explorer Post 911, the Louisville Division of Fire, and the Exploring Division of the Lincoln Heritage Council, will host a Youth Fire Academy on July 24, 8 - 4 p.m., at the Louisville Fire Training Academy, 1501 West Hill Street.

The mission of the camp is to introduce boys and girls ages 14 - 18 to the Louisville Division of Fire as a career option. Participants will get to experience a training tower run, an obstacle course, fire hose and hydrant operation, an ambulance and its equipment including the Automated External Defibrillator.

Camp participants also will have the opportunity to view the 911 display, and speak to counselors about the Exploring program and careers within the Louisville Division of Fire.

There is no cost to attend the camp. All participants will receive lunch and a tee shirt. Registration forms can be obtained by contacting Darron Murrell at 361-2624, ext. 3018, or Suzanne Bernert at 635-6984.

Please join Louisville’s Fire Chief Gregory Frederick and the campers beginning at 8:45 a.m., for an exciting and fun filled day.
