Notices of intent to promulgate administrative regulations

FRANKFORT — The following EMS-related notices of intent to promulgate administrative regulations were received as of noon, April 15 by the Kentucky Legislative Research Commission.

BOARD OF NURSING

April 9, 2003

(1) 201 KAR 20:057. Scope and standards of practice of advanced registered nurse practitioners.

(2) The Board of Nursing intends to promulgate an administrative regulation governing the subject matter listed above.

(3) A public hearing to receive oral and written comments on the proposed administrative regulation has been scheduled for May 23, 2003 at 9 a.m. (ET) in the Boardroom, Kentucky Board of Nursing, 312 Whittington Parkway, Suite 300, Louisville, Kentucky 40222.

(4)(a) The public hearing will be held if:

1. It is requested in writing by at least 5 persons, or an administrative body, or an association having at least 5 members; and

2. A minimum of 5 persons, or the administrative body or association, agree in writing to be present at the public hearing.

(b) If a request for a public hearing and agreement to attend the public hearing are not received from the required number of people at least 10 days prior to May 23, 2003, the public hearing will be cancelled.

(6)(a) KRS Chapter 13A provides that persons who desire to be informed of the intent of an administrative body to promulgate an administrative regulation governing a specific subject matter may file a request to be informed by the administrative body.

(b) Persons who wish to file this request may obtain a request form from the Board of Nursing at the address listed above.

(7) Information relating to the proposed administrative regulation:

(7)(a) The statutory authority for the promulgation of an administrative regulation relating to the subject matter of this administrative regulation is KRS 314.131.

(b) The administrative regulation that the Board of Nursing intends to promulgate amends an existing administrative regulation.

(c) The necessity, function, and conformity of the proposed administrative regulation is as follows: To remove the requirement that collaborative practice agreements be filed with the board.

(d) The benefits expected from this administrative regulation are: There is no longer a need for the board to house these documents. The ARNP will be required to furnish a copy to the board upon request.

(e) The administrative regulation will be implemented as follows: Through normal agency procedures.

(1) 201 KAR 20:220. Nursing continuing education provider approval.

(2) The Board of Nursing intends to promulgate an administrative regulation governing the subject matter listed above.

(3) A public hearing to receive oral and written comments on the proposed administrative regulation has been scheduled for May 23, 2003 at 9 a.m. (ET) in the Boardroom, Kentucky Board of Nursing, 312 Whittington Parkway, Suite 300, Louisville, Kentucky 40222.

(4)(a) The public hearing will be held if:

1. It is requested in writing by at least 5 persons, or an administrative body, or an association having at least 5 members; and

2. A minimum of 5 persons, or the administrative body or association, agree in writing to be present at the public hearing.

(2) The Board of Nursing intends to promulgate an administrative regulation governing the subject matter listed above.

(3) A public hearing to receive oral and written comments on the proposed administrative regulation has been scheduled for May 23, 2003 at 9 a.m. (ET) in the Boardroom, Kentucky Board of Nursing, 312 Whittington Parkway, Suite 300, Louisville, Kentucky 40222.

(4)(a) The public hearing will be held if:

1. It is requested in writing by at least 5 persons, or an administrative body, or an association having at least 5 members; and

2. A minimum of 5 persons, or the administrative body or association, agree in writing to be present at the public hearing.

(c) The necessity, function, and conformity of the proposed administrative regulation is as follows: Clarifies what curriculum changes must be reported to the board and adds a curriculum requirement of an integrated practicum to the program of nursing.

(d) The benefits expected from this administrative regulation are: To improve the student's ability to begin practice as a nurse.

(e) The administrative regulation will be implemented as follows: Through normal agency procedures.

(d) The benefits expected from this administrative regulation are: To improve the student's ability to begin practice as a nurse.

(3) A public hearing to receive oral and written comments on the proposed administrative regulation has been scheduled for May 23, 2003 at 9 a.m. (ET) in the Boardroom, Kentucky Board of Nursing, 312 Whittington Parkway, Suite 300, Louisville, Kentucky 40222.

(2) The Board of Nursing intends to promulgate an administrative regulation governing the subject matter listed above.

(3) A public hearing to receive oral and written comments on the proposed administrative regulation has been scheduled for May 23, 2003 at 9 a.m. (ET) in the Boardroom, Kentucky Board of Nursing, 312 Whittington Parkway, Suite 300, Louisville, Kentucky 40222.

(4)(a) The public hearing will be held if:

1. It is requested in writing by at least 5 persons, or an administrative body, or an association having at least 5 members; and

2. A minimum of 5 persons, or the administrative body or association, agree in writing to be present at the public hearing.
