BOWLING
GREEN —
Registration fees for this year's Kentucky EMS Conference and Expo
have been raised a bit, but a new "group registration"
package for organizations can bring the cost back down to last
year's 3-day registration rate and make it easier to send
organization members.
The
conference committee set the rates today at a meeting in Bowling
Green. The rates are:
-
A
full 3-day conference registration will be $120.00.
-
A
1-day conference registration for either Wednesday,
Thursday, or Friday will be $50.00.
-
A
group registration package that consists of five 3-day passes
will be $500.00. New this year, these passes will not be
printed with the student's name but will instead only show the name of
the organization that purchased the package. Unlike
individual conference passes, these can be
transferred between members of your organization an
unlimited number of times during the conference.
Organizations purchasing a package will save from $100 to
$250 per package over the cost of individual registration.
Conference
registration does not include any meals. This year, lunch will not
be provided, and those attending the conference can purchase lunch
in the hotel's restaurants or off-site.
Tickets
for the Kentucky EMS Awards Banquet and Dance can be purchased for
an additional $35.00. Although the price of the banquet ticket
also increased this year, the cost of the ticket will now fully
pay for the meal. Previously, the cost of the awards banquet meal
was subsidized by the Kentucky Ambulance Providers Association.
Only 500 tickets will be available.
The
dance that follows the banquet had been free in the past. This
year, you'll need a banquet ticket to attend the dance, or pay a
five dollar cover charge at the door.
The
special hotel room rates, and the registration cost for the golf scramble,
are not yet available.
Although
the conference schedule has not been finalized, some of the
conference events have been tentatively scheduled.
Monday,
Sept. 15:
- The
EMS Golf Scramble will be held during the afternoon this year, instead
of in the morning, at the Hillcrest Golf Course.
Tuesday,
Sept. 16:
- Association
meetings will be scheduled during the day and evening.
- A
new Elected Officials EMS Inservice will be scheduled.
- The
Kentucky EMS Olympics will hold their outdoor rescue competitions.
Wednesday,
Sept. 17:
- The
first day of the main conference, with its educational tracks, will
begin.
- The
Kentucky EMS Olympics will conduct their indoor individual competitions
in the exhibit hall.
- The
Expo, with its exhibitors, will open. Refreshments will be served and
door prizes will be awarded at an evening event.
Thursday,
Sept. 18:
- The
main conference will continue with its second day.
- The
Expo will be open all day. Door prizes will be drawn and awarded
periodically throughout the day.
- A
special welcome will be held for Randolph Mantooth, this year's EMS
Awards Banquet and Dance guest speaker. Mr. Mantooth stared as one of
the nation's first paramedics in the hit television series Emergency.
He will arrive on a STATCARE helicopter sometime in the evening.
Friday,
Sept. 19:
- The
main conference concludes with its third day.
- The
Kentucky EMS Awards Banquet and Dance will be held earlier this year,
with seating beginning at 4:45 and the meal being served at 5:30.
Following the banquet, there will be a special photo session for all the
award recipients. (Photos during the banquet will be discouraged this
year.) Mr. Mantooth will attend the dance that follows the banquet and
will be available to meet with those attending. A raffle for a chance to
have the first dance with Mr. Mantooth will be held.
The
conference committee will meet again next month in Owensboro to further work
on the schedule and events.
