By CHARLES O'NEAL
Kentucky Board of EMS

FRANKFORT — The University of Louisville Department of Surgery and Department of Emergency Medicine will conduct an Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Provider Course on March 20-21, 2003.

This is a standard course, which consists of 11 lectures, 6 skill stations, a lab, and the work-up of simulated patient injuries. A written and practical examination will be given at the conclusion of the course. The program content has been divided in a manner that is not overwhelming and provides an enjoyable learning experience for those involved in the delivery of trauma care. If all phases of the course are successfully completed, an ATLS verification card will be presented.

The registration fee for the course is $550 for physicians, $300 for residents and $150 for those eligible as a student refresher. Parking, lunches and course materials are included in the above fee. Enrollment is limited to the first 20 participants and openings will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Registration deadline is February 15, 2003.

For additional information and an application, contact Jackie Tucker, Assistant ATLS Course Coordinator at 502-562-4060.
