Published June 27 in the Crittenden Press Ambulance death case settles outside courtroom Crittenden Press Staff Report MARION — An out-of-court settlement agreement has been reached in the legal case between Crittenden Health Systems and Pat Tinsley, whose wife Denise was killed in an ambulance accident one year ago. As prosecution and defense attorneys prepared for an August trial, a settlement was reached among attorneys representing Crittenden Health Systems, its insurance company and Tinsley's Owensboro attorney. According to Tinsley's attorney, Charles Moore, mediation initially failed in April but attorneys now have reached a settlement agreeable to all parties. Through phone calls between Moore and CHS' attorneys, the case was settled for a sum of money "appropriate for the tragedy." Tinsley is satisfied with the settlement and glad to avoid reliving the tragedy through a court trial. He and his son, Caleb, 5, were in the ambulance when it wrecked on the West Kentucky Parkway last June. "It's good to have it behind us," Tinsley said. "I'm glad to get it over with." "Obviously the grief and the loss Pat experienced will never be resolved... but at least this chapter is closed," Moore said. "We were well satisfied with the results the legal process gave us," Moore said. "We felt that the settlement is what we would expect to receive if a jury tried the case."
