AdminaStar reports denial errors By
MIKE SWIFT GLASGOW — The Kentucky Ambulance Providers Association was informed yesterday that AdminaStar has determined that they have recently denied some claims for service as duplicate billings, when in fact they were not. These denials usually were for return trips and they started occurring beginning January 1, 2001 after AdminaStar began accepting changes in the new ambulance codes. Lindy Lady, AdminaStar's Provider Relations Representative has been informed that AdminaStar will correct these denials through a mass adjustment process which should occur in the near future. The exact date will be publicized as soon as it is known. Ambulance providers will receive corrected Remittance advices with the additional reimbursement that is due to them. In the meantime, Ambulance providers do not need to resubmit claims or the denied remittance advice to AdminaStar. It is not necessary for providers to contact AdminaStar's provider assistance, as AdminaStar is aware of the problem. AdminaStar will complete the mass adjustment specifications and complete the adjustments with the data that they have on file. If any providers need any additional information, they are advised to contact Lindy Lady at (502) 423-2292 or email her at Lindy.Lady@Anthem.com.
