OSHA launches educational effort about new needlestick requirements WASHINGTON, D.C. — Enforcement of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) recently revised needlestick requirements for hospital and other healthcare providers will commence July 18, 2001. OSHA will conduct an outreach and education campaign about the revisions, which involve the bloodborne pathogens standard. The campaign will also clarify the need for employers to select safer needle devices to minimize injuries and involve employees in identifying and choosing the devices.
