LOUISVILLE — Paramedic Phil Duvall, former employee of Jefferson County EMS, is scheduled to receive the "Silver Star" award from the US Department of Transportation.

This is the second highest award they present to civilians. The Coast Guard will present the award to Paramedic Duvall on Monday, March 19, 2001, at 7 PM during the Propeller Club meeting at the Nights of Columbus on River Road.

Paramedic Phil Duval is receiving the award due to his rescue of a man from the Ohio River last year during Thunder Over Louisville.

The Coast Guard invited the Jefferson County EMS Honor Guard to participate. The JCEMS Honor Guard will present and retrieve the colors during the award service.
