By TODD G. COX
EMS Chief, Clinton County EMS

ALBANY — Clinton County Fiscal Court held its monthly meeting on February 15, 2001. The Ambulance Fee Schedule was adopted in order to become current with the HCFA Fee Schedule.

During the meeting EMS Chief Todd Cox explained that the changes would not greatly effect individuals. He stated that the majority of our transports fall under Medicare or Medicaid anyway, so the approved transports will be paid with no out of pocket payments having to be made.

The Fee Schedule breaks down the amount charged according to the level of treatment that is needed during the time of transport.

During the meeting the Fiscal Court also voted on a resolution supporting the Kentucky Ambulance Providers Association in their efforts and requests that Kentucky's Congressional delegation contact HCFA and request that they immediately require AdminaStar-Federal, Inc. to process claims on a fair, consistent and timely basis, reduce the delays in reimbursement for services rendered, eliminate the back-log of claims and process claims in a timely manner.
