Typo found on NREMT-B recert form By
JOHN HULTGREN LOUISVILLE — An error on a National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians' EMT-B recertification form mistakenly says that all continuing education must be completed within a one-year period. EMTs must complete all of their required continuing education within their registration cycle, so they actually have a two-year period. On page 4 of the recertification form that NREMT recently mailed to all EMT-Bs with registrations expiring March 31, 2001, the fourth bullet item for Section II states:
An unidentified staff worker who answered the phone at NREMT's office in Columbus, Ohio, yesterday was unaware of the error. "She did agree it was an error, and she said to cross out '2000' and change it to '2001'", said John Hultgren of STATCARE.
