KBEMS needs amounts owed by Medicare by end of week By
KEITH SMITH FRANKFORT — The Kentucky EMS Branch and the Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services is in need of specific information from each ambulance service in the State of Kentucky. A report is being generated to indicate the amount of money Medicare (AdminaStar) owes to services in Kentucky. If you have not yet been contacted by someone from State EMS/KYBEMS about this issue, please contact us! You may forward your information via telephone/e-mail to your regional EMS Advisor/Inspector or contact KBEMS director Brian Bishop at (502) 564-8963. Mr. Bishop's e-mail address is BRIAN.BISHOP@MAIL.STATE.KY.US. If your service utilizes a billing service, they may be able to provide you with an accurate total dollar figure. This information is needed no later than close of business Friday, December 29, 2000. If you are unable to provide an exact amount owed, try to estimate to the best of your knowledge the total amount. This information will be used in order to illustrate the current Federal reimbursement issue in Kentucky. Additionally, if you have a service e-mail address or a reliable e-mail address not associated with your service, please let us know! Hopefully, we will be able to disseminate information much quicker through the use of technology.
