Below
are highlights from an update session sponsored by the National
Registry of EMTs during last week's National Association of EMS
Educator's Conference.
- A
new practice analysis will be available by December, 2000
- EMT
Intermediate cards will say I/85 or I/99 to show whether Intermediates
have tested under 1985 or 1999 curriculum until new scope of practice is
devised
- Intermediate
test will have 180 questions with pass fail sections (like Paramedic)
- New
Paramedic exam will be available in October; the stop date for giving
the old test will be in November
- New
Paramedic test will be very similar to old in content
- Basic
EMT test applications will be changing and will be available on-line for
download.
