KAPA calls for show of force at HB405 hearing
House Bill 405 committee hearing set for Tuesday

ASHLAND — Wanted: All EMS folks to respond to a call for help!

We We need everyone who can possibly be there to attend at the House Appropriations and Revenue Committee hearing on Tuesday, March 7th. at 10:00 A.M. EST in the Capitol Annex at Frankfort (probably in Room 129). 

Kentucky House Bill 405, also known as "EMS 2000", is on the committee agenda. This is possibly the most important step in the process of getting our legislation passed. 

We all know what an impact it made for us to have a big showing of EMS people IN UNIFORM at the Health and Welfare Committee meeting. It is even more important that we make a good showing for next Tuesday's hearing. Please make every effort to be there!

Again, it would be a good idea if we were lining the hallways and filling the auditorium a little early, perhaps at 9:30. That way, the legislators see us as they come downstairs to the hearing. Also, it gives us a chance to have a quick word with our own Representatives as they are coming in. 

This is a very big step toward getting this legislation passed. The ball is rolling and we need to keep it going our way. HB405 is the biggest single step we will ever make toward getting EMS into the forefront in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. 

I know that it isn't easy for many of us to make a trip to Frankfort, but we really need to be there for this one. Many of you have asked what you can do to help get this piece of legislation passed. THIS IS IT!!! 

I'm looking forward to seeing all of you at the Capitol Annex next Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. Thank you again for your help.
