Yellow EMS will hire and then train EMTs

By JOHN HULTGREN

LOUISVILLE — Yellow EMS announced today that they are taking a new approach to hiring emergency medical technicians.

According to Mike Ross, Yellow EMS' new training coordinator, Yellow EMS will hire prospective EMTs and pay them while they attend EMT class.

There are some pre-employment requirements: the prospective EMT must be someone who wants to work, has a clean driving and no criminal record, and must meet the Kentucky and Indiana EMT certification requirements.

The first class is scheduled to begin April 3 in Louisville. Employees will attend an Indiana-approved EMT-Basic course. The course will be followed by National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians testing, which, along with a Kentucky approved AIDS/HIV course, would qualify the successful candidate for Kentucky EMT-Basic certification.

For more information, contact Mike Ross at (502) 636-0414 or by e-mail at mross19940@aol.com.
